Rock on the Range Rundown
On May 19, 2007, rock ‘n roll was forever changed with the inaugural Rock on the Range Festival. The 12-hour event shook the stage at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Ohio with 30,000 people paving the way for festival history. Since then, Rock on the Range has become the festival where all rock bands want to play. Their motto, “Where Rock Lives,” perfectly describes the music experience.
More than 50 bands, three stages, during a single weekend: this is not just-another-rock-festival, but the biggest one in the nation. Rock on the Range is now a sold-out event with more than 130,000 fans from just about every state in the U.S.
Rock on the Range features the biggest names in the business as well as the bands everyone should know. Legends Kid Rock, ZZ Top, KORN, Cheap Trick, Soundgarden, Motley Crue, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, 3 Doors Down, Slipknot have all rocked the stage and the list keeps growing.
The lineup isn’t the only epic thing at the festival. They make sure to keep everyone hyped for the entire weekend with different experiences, like their battle of the bands. The classic battle of the bands has unknowns perform at Rock on the Range for a chance to win $15,000 in prizes. Need a break from the mosh-pit? There’s the comedy tent where the biggest rock n’ roll-influenced comedians perform.
If watching the music just isn’t enough, people get a chance to make their own rock sound. The Crazy Dave’s Music Experience has all the elements involved for making music in a professional band setting. The interactive exhibit features guitars, basses, amps, drums, keyboards and electronic gear used by today’s most popular bands. After festivalgoers get a chance to lay their hands on the hottest equipment available, they’ll walk away feeling like a real rock star.
For the first time, this year’s Rock on the Range is offering the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 VIP Lounge upgrade. Anyone can pay for this upgrade and with what they are offering, it just might be worth it: Wi-Fi, charging stations, private restrooms, premium food options and more.
Gearing up for its eighth year with headliners, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson,Judas Priest and Godsmack, now more than ever, Rock on the Range is truly where rock live
